The Russian Embassy recommended that citizens of the country refrain from traveling to Canada due to cases of discrimination based on ethnicity and citizenship. This is reported on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"We recommend that you refrain from traveling to this country for tourism, education, as well as in the context of business relations," the message says.
Those who are already in Canada were urged to be vigilant in public places.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also reported that appeals from Russians about blocking transfers to local financial and credit organizations have become more frequent. The agency advised against such operations. "Due to the unconstructive position of the Canadian authorities, there are currently no opportunities to recover such funds through extrajudicial or judicial mechanisms. Even for humanitarian reasons," the Foreign Ministry added.
