The head of the Japanese Defense Ministry, Yasukazu Hamada, gave the command to prepare for the interception of a ballistic missile of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). This is reported by The Japan Times.
According to the newspaper, this order was given to the country's self-defense forces, as the command saw the risk of fragments of the DPRK missile falling on the territory of Japan.
It is clarified that American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems armed with SM-3 missiles are planned to be used to intercept the missile.
Earlier, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said that the DPRK would launch a military spy satellite. The Head of State ordered officials to prepare the launch of the first aircraft in accordance with the established plan. Kim Jong-un also promised to make the DPRK a world space power.
