Ukraine is trying to drag the United States and other NATO members even deeper into the conflict in Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned about this in an interview with TASS.
He explained that Kiev is counting on a head-on collision of the North Atlantic Alliance with Russia. As an example, he cited the case of the fall of a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile on the territory of Poland, after which Zelensky blamed Moscow for the incident. "It's good that Washington and Brussels were smart enough then not to fall for this trick. But the incident showed that the regime will stop at nothing," the head of Russian diplomacy said.
In the same interview, Lavrov stated that Russia's proposals for the demilitarization and denazification of the lands controlled by Kiev and the elimination of security threats should be carried out "in good time." Otherwise, he warned, "the Russian army will solve the issue." He added that Kiev is well aware of Moscow's demands.
Earlier, the minister called the main outcome of 2022 the clarification of who is able to negotiate on the world stage. Prior to that, Lavrov said that Russia's actions in Ukraine ensured the failure of the "geopolitical games and plans" of the United States and its NATO allies.
