American human rights activist Ajamu Baraka questioned the existence of Ukraine as a state. The corresponding message appeared on his Twitter page.
"We cannot continue pretending that something called a Ukrainian nation or a state with independence and sovereignty really exists," he wrote, adding that Ukraine has been used by Washington as a source of "cannon fodder" since 2014.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the war was started by the Ukrainian authorities after a coup in 2014.
The seizure of power in Ukraine occurred as a result of the Maidan (Euromaidan) — mass protest actions in the center of Kiev and a number of other cities in the winter of 2013-2014. 106 people died during these events. Many top officials, including former President Viktor Yanukovych, were forced to flee abroad.
Russia has been conducting a special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine since February 24, 2022. Its goals are the protection of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.
